Travel sharing opens up a whole new world of possibilities, allowing you to customize your next summer experience. If you’re looking an adventure that connects you with the land, travel to Europe’s deepest hidden spectacles. We have put together this article of four majestic caves that everyone should see in their lifetimes, and they’re only four hours apart!
Lamprechtshöhle, Austria
Austria is home to many beautiful sights, including this natural wonder close to the Leogang Mountains. Start at the Lamprecht Cave, a remarkable underground formation that has become a popular Austrian destination and is rumored to house treasures hidden by a knight named Lamprecht after the Crusades. It extends out about 51 kilometer (32 miles), making it one of the largest cave systems in Europe and also the world´s biggest multiple-entrance cave. Make your descent deep into the youngest but most famous of the Dachstein caves by following a series of wooden steps that bypass the slippery rocks. Wander along the highly accessible pathway, which takes you 700 meters into the mountain and 70 meters down to a vast viewing platform. Here, you can enjoy gazing into the glorious well-lit cave that only gets better when it's raining outside.
Caves are ancient and mystical settings which hold secrets long hidden from the outside world.
Eisriesenwelt, Austria
The Eisriesenwelt, German for “World of the Ice Giants”, earns this name by being the globe’s largest limestone ice cave. The one and a half hour drive is sure to be worth it once you encounter its rocky interior that is completely covered in snow and ice all year long. According to Austrian legend, it was once thought to be the entrance to hell. Temperatures typically fall below freezing, so warm clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended. The cave is open from May 1 to October 26 but be aware that photography is not permitted once you are inside. Its gorgeous labyrinthine interior stretches for 42 kilometers (26 miles), leaving plenty to explore inside the cave. Everyone can marvel at a fantastic panoramic view of the region by hopping on an aerial cable car ride that ascends vertically from 1,084 meters (3,556 feet) to 1,586 meters (5,203 feet) in a matter of minutes.
Postojnska Jama, Slovenia
A short three hour drive takes you to the Postojnska Jama cave system, the site of the world’s best-known cave and a popular tourist destination that can be visited all-year round. This immense natural formation was formed two million years ago and features a series of caverns, halls and passages hollowed out by the Pivka River. Be astounded by 21 kilometers (12.5 miles) of passages as you ride though this subterranean world on an underground train. Once you are deep under the surface of Postojna Cave Park, you will get a chance to explore the caves on foot. If you’re lucky, you may see an Olm. This small, pink and blind salamander inhabits the cave’s waters and is legend to be the offspring of dragons! What makes the monumental site even more impressive, is that it houses a 10,000 person concert hall where music events are hosted.
Škocjan Caves, Slovenia
Complete the tour with an experience straight out of a fantasy tale, travel to the Škocjan Caves. This enormous cave system has existed since the prehistoric times and is only a two hour drive from the Postojna Cave. It features one of the world’s largest known underground canyons and holds the title of Europe’s highest cave hall. This UNESCO natural and cultural world heritage site also boasts waterfalls and a bridge that extends over its massive gorge. Travelers will be stunned by the stalactite and stalagmite structures lining the impressive chambers. No wonder that three thousand years ago, this region was a significant pilgrimage site in Europe, coveted for its connection with the afterlife and communicating with ancestral spirits.

I have been surfing online more than three hours
today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.
